Linda McMahon Wins Republication Nomination For U.S. Senate Seat

Linda McMahon won the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat out of the state of Connecticut at a convention last night. Her opponent, U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons, received enough votes to force an August primary. If McMahon wins the primary election in August, she will face Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, the Democratic nominee, for Christopher Dodd's U.S. Senate seat in November.

McMahon is already aiming for the November race.
I venture to say we're going to lay the smackdown on him come November," McMahon told reporters last night.
I was an unknown coming into this race," she continued. "I needed to have a good solid campaign out of the box because people need to know who I am and what I stand for.

McMahon has vowed to spend $50 million of her own money on the campaign. Linda's family was on hand at the Republication convention last night as Vince McMahon, Triple H, Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon all made appearances
