Vince McMahon : WrestleMania 26 Didn't Measure Up

The following of Thesun.co.uk :

WWE boss Vince McMahon has admitted being disappointed with WrestleMania 26 sales despite 885,000 people buying the show. That worldwide figure was down around 12 per cent from last year's Mania, which did 960,000 buys. Vince blamed the drop on a number of factors, chiefly that the 2009 event had stronger creative and branding around a 25th anniversary theme. He also noted that more people now tend to watch wrestling PPVs together rather than purchase them individually.Quoting former wrestling star Bobo Brazil, McMahon told WWE investors: "As with anything in the content business, sometimes you're on and sometimes you're not. "I'm not saying it's a failure, but it didn't measure up in terms of budget and it didn't measure up to last year. It was a good attraction, but it wasn't a great attraction." However, the WWE owner refused to accept the buy rate was hurt by a UFC PPV taking place a day before Mania. He added: "You're talking about two completely different audiences. "The UFC audience is more of a boxing audience than an entertainment audience."
